Overview
Shihoro Highlands Napuka Village is an arena for outdoor recreation located in Daisetsuzan National Park and surrounded by lush nature. The administrative building, Lodge Napuka, doubles as a scenic café and is a space where guests can relax while enjoying a coffee or ice cream. At the yakiniku house, guests can enjoy the taste of local specialty Shihoro Beef (some menu items require reservations).
Landscape
Its location at an elevation of 600m (1,968.5 ft) provides a 180-degree panoramic view of the Hidaka Mountains and Tokachi Plains. Guests can see to the end of the horizon during the day while enjoying view of the city lights and starry skies at night. Depending on the season, it is also possible to see frost-covered trees, a sea of clouds, or dairy cattle and horses grazing at nearby farms.
Activities
Roughly 50 mountain bikes available for rental, ¥100 for 3 hours. There is also a playground with wooden equipment that is popular with children as well as the start point of a trail for climbing Mt. Hakuunzan from the Shihoro side near the north side of the observatory.
