Sarabetsu Village

The village of Sarabetsu is located in the southern part of the Tokachi region and offers a panoramic view of the majestic Hidaka Mountains. It is an agricultural area flush with nature and roughly 70% of its overall land area is covered in farmland. The town is characterized by its large-scale farming, with Sarabetsu leading the country in both farm acreage and the number of tractors owned per farmer. Located as little as 10 minutes by car from Tokachi-Obihiro Airport, the gateway to the Tokachi sky, Sarabetsu is also the closest to Tokyo of all villages in Tokachi.
The town is also home to Sarabetsu Country Park, an authentic drive-up campsite, Tokachi Speedway, the only FIA-approved racecourse in Hokkaido, the Family Park Sarabetsu fishing pond, and the “Sarabetsu” roadside rest area. The Plum Country Donguri Park and Sumomo-no-sato are located in the surrounding area and visitors can get refreshed at Fukushi-no-sato Hot Spring. On top of that, Sarabetsu Noson Park features a big square with large playground equipment attracting numerous families as the leading playground in the Tokachi area.
