About Destination Tokachi

What is Destination Tokachi?

What is Destination Tokachi?
Destination Tokachi was founded with the objective of utilizing the majestic natural spaces of the Tokachi region of Hokkaido as an arena for authentic outdoor activities and to provide a segment of customers seeking a spiritually rich lifestyle with opportunities to enjoy a premium time filled with rest, relaxation, and excitement.

We will advance the branding of Tokachi regional tourism by taking full advantage of its nature, food, people, and other regional resources to create new value and share that value with the world to encourage visitors to stay and enjoy time in the Tokachi area. Furthermore, we hope that by contributing to the promotion of not only industries related to tourism but other related industries as well, such as the food, agriculture, forestry, and fishing industries, we can achieve regional revitalization using outdoor tourism as a Japanese-style DMO (Destination Management Organization).

In order to create a uniquely Tokachi style of outdoor recreation, we will use the platforms of camping and glamping to promote the combination of appealing content and the development of new lodging facilities. We will also increase the appeal of Tokachi through the alteration of existing content and provision of new content and activities.

About Tokachi

Surrounded by a veritable tapestry of great untouched nature composed of Daisetsuzan National Park, Akan National Park, and Hidaka Sanmyaku-Erimo Quasi-national Park, Tokachi boasts unique scenery made up of rural landscapes that spread out like patchwork and is home to a large-scale agriculture industry centered around field and dairy farming on highly-productive farmland fed from the Tokachi River and its more than 200 tributaries.
Also, because Tokachi serves as a major food production hub for Japan, visitors can enjoy rich and varied cuisine from its many cheese producers, premium branded beef, and high-quality vegetables.
